Another Hollywood Marriage Bites the Dust: Eva Longoria & Tony Parker

According to People Magazine, Eva Longoria has filed for divorce from Tony Parker. I remember their storybook romance and wedding in a European castle back in 2007. They seemed like the perfect couple: gorgeous, rich and happy. However, there was more going on behind the scenes that we apparently knew about.

Allegedly, Tony Parker cheated on his wife with the wife of one of his teammates. Longoria allegedly discovered several hundred text messages between the two paramours. That’s beyond low. It’s one thing to cheat, but to cheat with a woman who is married to one of your co-workers? How can a man possibly do such a thing? I know it happens all the time, but it shocks me each time.

Apparently Eva Longoria is also asking for spousal support. Now, why on earth would she need spousal support? Isn’t the fat paycheck from Desperate Housewives enough to keep her happy? Does she just want to make him suffer, just as he allegedly made her suffer? The spousal support request seems a little fishy.

Anyway, it looks like he cheated with this woman earlier in their marriage, but Longoria forgave him of that indiscretion. I guess you can only forgive adultery so many times before you have to call it quits.

So, it’s important to marry the right person and to work on the marriage on a regular basis. Extravagant weddings are wonderful but they aren’t enough to keep a marriage going. In other words, don’t sweat the small stuff. You’ll have an amazing wedding no matter what.
