Celebrity Weddings: TomKat & Paris Squared

You know, I really don’t like hearing about celebrity weddings.  These beautiful people have tons of money to create these beautiful weddings and invite even more beautiful people to celebrate their nuptials.  That’s not my reality.  In my reality, couples comb over their budget a million times before the big day to see where they can save a little bit of money here and there. 

Planning a wedding is a lot of hard work, especially if you don’t have a wedding planner.  Most of us don’t have a 6-figure bank account to create our dream wedding without a care in the world.  We cut down on expensive meals and the daily caramel latte in order to come up with the money for our wedding and our honeymoon.  Some of us receive help from our families, but the financial responsibility for the wedding lies with us alone.

I wish Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Paris Hilton & Paris Latsis all the luck in the world.  They’ve earned their money and deserve to have any kind of wedding that their hearts desire.  But, I also want to respect the everyday couples that try to create a special event with limited resources that their families and friends will remember for years on end.
