Chicago Wedding Planning and the Weather

Planning a wedding in Chicago involves dealing with the ever-changing Chicago weather.

Planning a wedding in Chicago around the weather is no easy task.  We all know that our Chicago weather can change on a dime.  When a Chicago meteorologist says that we should have clear skies for the next three days, most of us will take an umbrella just to be on the safe side.

You can’t count on clear skies when planning your Chicagoland wedding.  The weather on my wedding day was supposed to be brisk, but without any chance of rain.  The skies had a different plan and decided to rain down all day from early morning until 9PM that evening.  My husband and I had planned on leading our wedding guests from the church to the reception site around the corner, but that plan had to be scrapped.  Life moves on.

It’s always a good idea to have a Plan B when planning your wedding in Chicago if you have included any outdoor activities.  If your entire wedding ceremony and reception are set to be outdoors, then consider booking a tent from your reception site or a party rental company.

Make sure you check the weather five days out to get a sense of what the Chicago meteorologists are predicting for the weather on your day.  Of course, there are no guarantees, but sometimes Chicago meteorologists will get an idea if there is a good chance of rain on your wedding day.
