Getting Ready for a Fall Chicago Wedding
September 10, 2007
Here we are...fall. All of a sudden the crisp air makes its way to our city by the lake and prepares us for the lush, rich colors that Autumn will bring.
One of the most popular times to hold a wedding in Chicago is in the Fall season. The weather is a little more temperate and the Fall colors provide a beautiful backdrop for Fall Chicago weddings. It may rain, as it did throughout the day of my own wedding, but the season offers so much for brides in Chicago.
I was also a fall bride several years ago, so I have a soft spot in my heart for the season. The cool air reminds us that change is always coming and always constant. Nothing ever stays still for long in our lives.
I also become very contemplative during this season. When my husband and I booked the reception site for our wedding, we spent a lot of time deciding on the time of year to hold our nuptials. We chose Fall because it’s also a time for giving thanks for all the blessings in our lives.
Planning a wedding is not just a great excuse to hold a big party. Your wedding should reflect your style, personality, values and what you hold most dear in the world. When we were making key decisions about our wedding, we realized that this season gives us time to pause and reflect on the goodness in our lives.
I encourage you to take the time with your partner to decide on the right time of year for your wedding. The availability of your dream reception site should not take precedence over the day you choose to marry the one you love.
Have a great one!
