When you are planning your wedding, you are most likely overrun with ideas for the perfect ceremony as well as wedding reception. Many couples today are choosing to take advantage of the beautiful countryside around the United Kingdom to have their wedding. This includes everything from stately manor homes that can be rented for such an occasion to more quiet, rural accommodations. Having a traditional English wedding is something that others will remember and you will enjoy.

Choosing the ceremony

If you are planning on a church wedding, you will have to get married at a church where you are registered with the parish, although some exceptions can be made. You may also be able to get married in a church where a family member is a part of the congregation. The wedding ceremony will depend on your religious affiliation as well as where you live. You can also choose to have a civil ceremony that is ideal for second weddings.

The wedding ceremony is the most important aspect of the wedding as it bonds you as husband and wife. Make sure that you put great thought into this aspect of the wedding as you do the cocktail reception and dinner afterward.

Choosing the reception venue

After the wedding, you will want to host the guests to a cocktail party or dinner party as part of the wedding celebration. For a traditional English wedding, you can choose a country manor home that is let for this type of purpose. There are many such venues throughout the countryside. You can choose either a manor home or a simple rural home that will house the number of guests you wish to invite. Choose a reception venue that will adequately hold the number of guests and is within your wedding budget.

Choosing the flowers

A traditional English wedding must have flowers galore. You will want to work carefully with the florist to make certain that they have the perfect floral arrangements not only to decorate but also for you and your attendants to carry. When choosing a traditional English wedding, many brides will choose more whimsical bouquets of flowers, such as posies, rather than more stiff and formal wedding flowers.

Choosing the attire

A traditional English wedding can be either formal or informal when it comes to attire. This goes for everything from the attire for the groom to that for the bride and attendants. The bride can wear a lavish gown or one that is more simple. The groom can wear black tie and tales or a simple morning coat. Attendants should follow suit when choosing attire and everyone should compliment the bride.

There is much to consider when you are planning a traditional English wedding. With the right ceremony, venue, flowers and attire, you are on your way to having a wedding that will be charming and picturesque.
