Real Housewives of Atlanta - The Drama is Back
October 6, 2010
So you’re probably wondering why I’m including a blurb about The Real Housewives of Atlanta TV show on WeddingChicago.com. Well, one of the women is getting married this season, but that had nothing to do with the first episode that aired this week. I’m mostly writing about one of the newest characters, Phaedra Parks, and her husband, Apollo Nida.
Phaedra Parks is a high-powered celebrity attorney and apparently she married an ex-convict six months after he was released from prison. Now, I don’t know these people and I’m sure he’s a fine fellow, but why one earth would you marry someone six months after he got out of prison? Apparently he was convicted of racketeering in 2004 and was sentenced to 18 years in prison. He was released just short of 5 years in May 2009.
She’s a successful attorney. He’s an ex-convict who is 7 years her junior, which isn’t that big of a deal, in my opinion. But, why did they get married so soon after his release? She said that they’ve known each other for awhile, but I still don’t understand the need to wed someone within six months of his release from jail. Did they get engaged while he was in prison? Did they have an engagement at all? I don’t know.
On the show she stated that he signed a pre-nuptial agreement, which is a very smart move. They just had their first child this past July. Is that the reason why she married him so quickly?
I think about these things since I publish Wedding Chicago and other websites, and I’m sure they’re very happy together. The whole situation is a little odd.
Anyhoo, have a great one!
