Swine Flu, Weddings and Social Events
October 20, 2009
Everyone with whome I come in contact has some opinion about swine flu and the best ways to avoid catching it altogether. Some families with children have suggested that they will bypass weddings and social events during the flu season in order to protect themselves from coming down with swine flu. What is a bride to do during these unusual circumstances?
Honestly, there’s nothing you can do. If people change their mind about attending your wedding out of swine flu fear, then wish them well. It’s difficult to judge someone for their choices regarding their own self-preservation.
Now, if parents choose to keep their children home instead of bringing them to your event, then so be it! It’s one less thing that you have to worry about. Brides will often arrange for a babysitter to watch children during the wedding reception. A wedding without young children will save you money, time and worry.
The most important thing is to have fun. This is a crazy time - swine flu anxiety, bad economy, crazy balloon boy hoaxes - so might as well enjoy your day to the fullest.
Have a great one!
