The Judgment of Jude Law

Why do we put so much emphasis on the lives of celebrities?  Why do we care so much?

This week Jude Law admitted having an affair with his children’s nanny.  It’s unfortunate and I feel for his fiancee, but why was this top news all over the world?  Jude Law is an actor, but he’s also a regular person with character defects and shortcomings just like everyone else.  Why did pundits all over the globe feel the need to weigh in on his indiscretion?

I’m a firm believer in fidelity.  I think that marriage is a huge commitment, but it gives me the opportunity to become truly intimate with the most important person in my life.  I don’t understand the need to stray.  It boggles my mind because adultery prevents a person from really bonding with another human being.

A close friend of Jude Law anonymously confided that he might be a sex addict.  Is that really a good friend?  That’s a very personal matter that should remain with trusted confidants.  I was more disturbed by this “friend’s” betrayal.

I’m not here to judge anyone.  I’m grateful that I can live and grow on this planet without being under a microscope all of the time.  I wish Mr. Law & Sienna Miller all the luck in the world.
