The Ultimate Bridezilla - Lisa from New Jersey

Every once in awhile, I subject myself to a Jerry Springer-type show on the WE channel that promotes bad behavior in brides.  You know which one I’m talking about...BRIDEZILLAS!

The reason I don’t like this show is that the entire premise is to glorify and ultimately condone outrageous bridal behavior.  Whenever I catch an episode of the show I am absolutely horrified that these people are acting out in such terrible ways toward each other.

I remember last season that there was one unbelievably mean bride that brought her fiance’ to tears!  It was so embarassing to watch this grown man bawl over the fact that she was angry with him, and that he thought she didn’t love him.  Why didn’t they work through these issues months before in pre-marital counseling?  This woman only stood there, with no tears in sight, and coldly denied his accusations.  That’s it!  She didn’t apologize for her part in the argument or try to comfort him in any way.  She just let him stand there and cry without even a sympathetic hug.  Nice.

So, I caught a few episodes recently of this one crazy bride who completely acted up and acted out throughout the show.  Lisa, also known as the New Jersey bridezilla from hell, screamed at her husband-to-be, her wedding party, her family, his family, the contractor on their house and pretty much anyone within a ten mile radius.  I was horrified when she cursed out her own daughter after the teenager sprayed some type of liquid in her face while she was sleeping.  Of course, that would upset me too, but it’s not appropriate to curse out your own child.  Children learn how to behave from their parents, and this daughter acted out as much as her mom.

Later in the show, the daughter called her own mother a big bitch and pushed her mother’s finger out of her face.  This family has problems!  It’s incomprehensible to me that the daughter would do such a thing, but where did she learn that behavior in the first place?  Hello?  My mother would have snatched me into next week if I even looked like I would put my finger in her face, much less call her that disgusting word.  These people are crazy.

There is so much to write about this woman.  She was married to her fiance’ once before and decided to remarry him years later.  This time he forced her to sign a pre-nuptial agreement because he was “taken to the cleaners” the last time.  She didn’t even read the documents fully because she wanted to book her dream honeymoon to Tahiti that he promised to pay for if she signed the pre-nup.

Later, Ms. Lisa was extremely upset that one of her guests at the rehearsal dinner presented a birthday cake to another guest during the event.  She, of course, screamed at the offending cake-giver, plunged her fist into the cake and stormed out of the room.  She was upset that another person would steal the focus on her special day.  Wow.

This was such an insane woman that I’m inclined to believe that part of it was played up for the cameras.  No one can be that out of control.  I can’t believe that.  Who would marry such a woman...TWICE!!!  Plus, this woman claims to be an actress/model and she could be over-dramatizing her 15 minutes of fame with the hopes of parlaying it into a budding acting career.  Who knows?

All I know is that it was uncomfortable to watch this crazy couple and their misadventures on their second trip down the aisle.
