Using Chicago Craigslist for your Wedding

Chicago Craigslist is a wonderful resource for brides getting married anywhere in the Chicagoland area.  Chicago brides exchange wedding tips on the very active Chicago wedding message boards and they pick up great deals on the bulletin boards from different Chicago wedding vendors.

One thing about Chicago Craigslist is that you never have a shortage of options to choose from.  A slew of Chicagoland wedding vendors market their services on Craigslist and some offer special wedding deals to brides who found them on the site.

Just taking a quick look on the Craigslist Chicago event services board today, I found an art gallery for rent, Chicago dj services and Chicago wedding photography for $500.  Craigslist Chicago has a lot to offer, but here are a few things to think about before you hire a wedding vendor from the bulletin boards.

1) Make sure that they have some type of website address or valid email address in their Craigslist ad.  Anyone can post an ad in Craigslist, so you have to be careful about whom you choose to hire. 

2) Check out any testimonials on their website and ask for their references.  Brides or couples that have worked with them will probably be honest about the services they received from the vendor.

3) After you check out their website, try emailing them before you call them.  If it doesn’t work out with the vendor, you can simply block their email address.  You can also block their phone number if you choose to call them, but it’s a much harder process.  Plus, it’s never a good idea to give out your number to vendors unless you have a good feeling about them.

Also, when you email vendors, use your Gmail, Hotmail, or Yahoo account so that you can maintain your privacy.

The internet is a great tool.  Now you can research vendors and compare prices before you even contact them.
