Wedding Chicago: Bridezillas & Chicago Wedding Vendors

That’s right, I still have something to say about that lovely bridezilla behavior.  Believe it or not, there are plenty of Chicago wedding vendors that consistently provide top-notch service to brides in spite of the occasional bridezillatude.

One Chicago wedding vendor confided in me that she sometimes gets stressed out when dealing with brides.  Most of her clients are great, but some Chicago brides will become very aggressive in their requests.  She loves working with brides, but she’s tired of getting yelled at time and time again.  Note to brides:  it’s not okay to use your vendors as a scratching post.

Another vendor shared that many couples view him as the hired help.  He wasn’t complaining, although it took him awhile to get accustomed to that attitude.  As a filmmaker, he’s greatly respected by his peers and film critics for his work.  His wedding clients also respect him, just in a different way. 

Many Chicago wedding vendors are artists who offer their gifts and talents to make your Chicago wedding dream come true.  They often work extra hours to make sure that they over deliver to their clients.  Sometimes they’ll put their personal needs aside in order to serve the couples at a high standard.

One Chicago wedding videographer I know was contracted to shoot a wedding downtown, and fell on his wrist in the middle of the photo shoot after the wedding.  Although he should have gone to the hospital, he chose to keep shooting the couple all night long.  He wanted to make sure that couple received the right amount of footage from their wedding day.  The next day he found out that he fractured his wrist. 

There are plenty of good Chicago wedding vendors that want you to have the wedding of your dreams.  I’ve run into a lot of vendors over the years, and the really good ones believe that it’s an honor to participate in such a sacred event.  They take their part in the proceedings very seriously and treat their clients with the utmost respect.

So, if you sense a harried bridezilla emerging her ugly head, please consider all of your options before you act.  Any problems that arise with Chicago wedding vendors can generally be handled with dignity and respect.
