Wedding Chicago: Worry, Fear & Money
June 23, 2005
Good morning, everyone!
During a few conversations with brides lately, I noticed a common theme: worry, fear and money. One bride was worried that she won’t be able to have the wedding of her dreams on their limited budget. Another bride was certain that she wouldn’t find a reception site that they could afford. All of them were completely enveloped in fear.
In the early stages of my wedding planning, I created a spending plan with a few friends. They helped me realize that I can have an abundant wedding if I plan it out with my then-fiance. Once I saw my wedding vision on paper, it made the process a little less scary. We could then make decisions about what we wanted and what we could afford to have.
Worry is a useless emotion and did not help us come up with the resources to hire any of our vendors. Hard work and clarity helped my husband and I plan the wedding we really wanted. If we had allowed ourselves to stay in vagueness, we would not have been able to accomplish anything.
I encourage couples to ask for help if they feel overwhelmed with their wedding planning. Sitting down with a few loved ones to talk sanely about the wedding could make a world of difference. Feel free to drop me a line any time.
Have a wonderful day!

Whenever I’m consumed with fear, I get this quote up to remind myself how much I am in control. Hope this quote can help stressed out bride, too.
“Although generalizations are dangerous, I venture to say that at the bottom of most fears, both mild and severe, will found an overactive mind and underactive body. Hence, I have advised many people in their quest for happiness to use their heads less and their arms and legs more in useful work or play. We generate fears while we site – we overcome them by actions. Fear is nature’s warning signal to get busy” - Henry Link
