Chicago Brides Beating the Nerves
September 17, 2007
When you’re planning your wedding, do you sometimes feel like your head is going to explode? You’re trying to coordinate vendor meetings with your fiance’s schedule, but it’s not working and you’re feeling like you’re carrying the weight of this planning adventure.
You’re not alone. Most engaged women think that planning a wedding is like working a second job. It’s so overwhelming and you don’t want to make a mistake that you think you’re going to regret in the future. Can everything really go down in flames? Of course not, but sometimes it feels like it can.
I always try to take a deep breath and back away from the computer, my handy-dandy wedding planner organizer, my vendor schedule, etc. It’s just not worth it if I’m all freaked out.
It’s important for me to take some “me time” when I’m feeling overwhelmed. What may seem like the biggest crisis in my life, may end up looking like a tiny blip on my radar. It’s all about perspective and that’s why I need to take some time for myself.
Think of it this way: If I’m stressed out, I’m no longer thinking clearly. If I’m no longer thinking clearly, then I won’t make good decisions. So actually, stress can cause me to sabotage my dream wedding plans much quicker than a serene afternoon to myself.
Just a few thoughts for the day. Have a great one!
