Chicago Wedding Music - Spare Parts Jazz

Chicago wedding band, Spare Parts Jazz, provides Chicago wedding entertainment and jazz music to couples all over the Chicagoland area.

I’ve been to a number of weddings over the years, and quite often the couple hires a Chicago wedding band that plays music to fit the tastes of their parents and their friends.  They may feel a certain amount of pressure to make their parents happy so they advise the wedding band to play music that appeals to an older crowd.

In other cases, the parents will offer to pay for the wedding music in order to take the financial strain off the shoulders of the bride and groom.  Whatever the case, the couple sometimes has to endure music from a band that doesn’t quite fit their expections.

One thing I like about Spare Parts Jazz is that they play a variety of music for weddings and special events.  They do focus on jazz but they’ll work within the parameters of the couple to make sure that they receive the music that they want to hear on their wedding.

One other great thing about Spare Parts Jazz is that each member graduated with a Master’s degree in Music from DePaul University.  I am also an alum of DePaul, and I may be a little biased, but I can assure you that the music program is one of the best in the country.  They really focus on the craft in the music department and graduate highly skilled musicians every year.

Spare Parts Jazz is also a very young group and sometimes that works very well for a young couple.  When you meet with Chicago wedding musicians, make sure you take the time to get to know them.  Their personality will show up during the wedding.

You can listen to a few samples of their music on their website here:  Spare Parts Jazz

Take care!
