Limousine Service in Chicago that Works

It’s hard to figure out which limousine service Chicago company to hire for your Chicago wedding celebration.

I was talking to a colleague of mine about the different type of limousine companies and the number of companies that change the terms of the contract at the last minute.  One bride ordered a limousine company to pick her up for the wedding and the company sent her a white limousine instead of a black limousine.  Some brides like to ride in a black limousine because it’s a great backdrop to their big, white wedding dress.

My husband picked our limousine company from the Yellow Pages, and they weren’t the best company in the world.  Number one, the limo driver was late picking up my family before swinging over to my place.  Then, she didn’t even have my address!  My family had to call my husband-to-be to get the address.

Later that day, another limo driver showed up too early to whisk us away from the reception site.  We ended up cutting our stay a little short because of that.

Thankfully, I have learned a lot about Chicago wedding limousine companies since that time.  Here are a few things to think about when choosing a limo service company to transport you and the bridal party.

1) Ask for references, specifically from recently married couples.  A corporate client may not have the same perspective as a former bride and groom.  Be sure to contact the couples to find out about the service they received from the limousine company.

2) Make sure you put the pick-up/drop-off times and addresses in writing and give a copy of that to your wedding planner or trusted friend.  If they come early, and you show them the contract with the instructions for the wedding, they’ll have to comply with the terms of the contract.  If they cause a ruckus, have a friend or wedding planner call the main company.

3) When in doubt, check the Better Business Bureau.  There are a lot of reputable limousine service companies, but some are flash-in-the-pan corporations.  My colleague joked that if the going gets tough for the owner of limousine company then he or she just might skip town.

Many limousine service companies know the importance of building a large referral business, so plenty of them will give you top notch service.  Be sure to do your homework before signing on the dotted line.
